DEA is linked to the
EU Energy Initiative (EUEI) in two ways:
1. COOPENER is a contribution from DG TREN to
the EU Energy Initiative (EUEI), and supports projects that are in line with
the EUEI focus on the important role of energy in poverty alleviation
2.
Five of the six participating countries in DEA were represented in the EUEI Facilitation
Workshops in Ouagadougou and Maputo where multi-sector stakeholder
teams from
a total of 14 African countries met
to discuss issues of energy and poverty alleviation and in particular to
identify national priorities and
new energy interventions. The multi-sector national groups formed for the
EUEI workshops constitute the basis for the stakeholder groups in the DEA
project. These groups meet for the first time in the set of First National
Workshops.
